People

People est un nom aux caractéristiques particuliers :

People will think we're in love (nom collectif, verbe pluriel).
Les gens vont croire qu'on est amoureux.

Two people have come to see you. (pluriel invariable, verbe pluriel).
Deux gens sont venus te voir.

The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty.  (nom comptable au singulier, verbe singulier.  Tournure un peu archaïque).
Le peuple est affamé, fatigué, et assoiffé.
