Le choix entre deux alternatives (mutuellement exclusives) peut s'exprimer par hetzij/(ofwel) ... hetzij/ofwel ou of (ou):
De vergadering heeft hetzij/ofwel maandag hetzij/ofwel donderdag plaats. La réunion se déroulera soit lundi, soit jeudi. Hetzij/ofwel kom je met ons mee, hetzij/ofwel blijf je thuis. Soit tu nous accompagnes, soit tu restes à la maison. Je kan hier blijven of je kan naar huis gaan. Tu peux rester ici ou tu peux rentrer chez toi.
