  • En anglais, le participe correspondant à une relative elliptique suit le nom, alors qu'en néerlandais, il précède généralement :
De door ons gelezen boeken, de in de kerk ontmoete mensen, de op de markt gekochte groenten, ...
The by us read books, the in church met people, the on the market bought vegetables, ...
=> The books read by us, the people met in church, the vegetables bought at the market, ...
Hij was al eerder getrouwd geweest, wat ik niet wist.
He had been married before, which I didn't know (what I didn't know.)
