L’anglais n’accepte pas la double négation

I never travel by train. 
Je ne voyage jamais en train.	

Nothing has ever been done for them.
Rien n’a jamais été fait pour eux.

I don’t understand anything.
I understand nothing.
			
Je ne comprends rien.
Non capisco niente.
No entiendo nada.

Une seule négation suffit :

En anglais, la négation s’exprime au moyen d’un seul élément négatif, souvent not ou n't :

Un adverbe négatif (ou «semi-négatif»)
not, never, nowhere, only … (rarely, hardly, …)
jamais, nulle part, seulement ...	(à peine)
Un verbe ou auxiliaire/opérateur + not ou n't
do not => don’t, am not, cannot, ...

Un sujet ou objet négatif
nobody, nothing, ...
personne, rien, …

Double négation

La double négation peut se trouver en anglais, mais n’est pas acceptable en anglais standard :

I don’t understand nothing.
