L'alternative exclusive ("ou bien l'un, ou bien l'autre", "soit ... soit") peut être exprimée par or ou either ... or et à l'interrogatif par whether ... or.

Either you do the job yourself, or you pay someone to do it for you.
Soit tu fais le boulot toi-même, soit tu paies quelqu'un pour le faire à ta place.

Either you come with us, or you stay at home.  It's your choice.
Soit tu nous accompagnes, soit tu restes à la maison.  A toi de choisir.
